Sporting CP will look to take down Group D rivals PSV Eindhoven at Estadio Jose Alvalade in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday 28 November 2019, kick-off at 23:00. The match is one of 24 across the continent in Matchday 5 of the second-tier UEFA competition.
Sporting come into the clash as Group D leaders on nine points, with their last outing in the Europa League a 2-0 win in Norway against Rosenborg earlier this month, with goals from Sebastien Coates and Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese club knows that a win in Lisbon will secure progression to the knockout phase and coach Silas is hoping his team can rack up a fourth straight win in the European competition.

“In front of our fans we need to continue the form we have shown. PSV will not be easy opponents, but we are well prepared and looking forward to the challenge,” explained the tactician, who was appointed to his post as recently as September.
PSV, meanwhile, are tied for second in the standings with Austria’s LASK (who are ranked above them on head-to-head results). The Dutch club lost 4-1 in Linz last time out and manager Mark van Bommel is coming under increasing pressure for his post.
He needs a positive result in this clash – both to save his job and boost PSV’s hopes of advancing into the knockout rounds alongside either LASK or Sporting (with Rosenborg already mathematically eliminated).
The teams clashed in a thriller in their opening Group D match back in September, with PSV winning 3-2 in Eindhoven thanks to goals from Donyell Malen, Sebastien Coates (og) and Timo Baumgartl. Sporting goals were scored by Bruno Fernandes and Pedro Mendes.
The other Group D match on Thursday night sees Rosenborg host LASK in Trondheim.
