Recent achievements at Express continue to be recognized after the club picked up three nominations as domestic football governing body Fufa announced their annual awards.
This is after the club won their seventh Uganda Premier League title at the end of June.
They then followed it up with the regional Cecafa Kagame Cup in mid august to cap a fine season for the Betway-sponsored side.
For such feats, Express coach Wasswa Bbosa is among the nominees for the coach of the year accolade alongside Morley Byekwaso (U-20 Hippos team) and Hussein Mbalangu (Arua Hill SC/Mbarara City FC.
Striker Eric Kambale was a pillar in that side scoring 15 goals with 12 of those coming in the second half of the season to guide the Red Eagles to the title.
The Congolese-born forward was also pivotal in the Cecafa run scoring three goals.
He is now part of a five-man shortlist that also includes Bobosi Byaruhanga (Vipers SC), Aziizi Kayondo (Vipers SC), Shafik Kuchi Kagimu (URA FC), Yunus Ssentamu (Vipers SC)
Those performances have also been followed by a nomination in the Member Associations' Award.
The sixth edition of the Airtel FUFA Awards will take place on December 04at Speke Resort Munyonyo, where winners will be rewarded in different categories.
Running under the theme, ‘Celebrating Uganda’s Finest Football Personalities,” this year’s edition comes with 13 categories.
Unlike the previous Awards where voting was done via Short Message Service (SMS), this time, fans will only vote for their favorite players and coaches online.
