Serbia are amongst the favourites to win the
2019 FIBA World Cup title with China set to host the tournament between 31 August and 15 September.
They played in the FIBA World Cup finals under name of FR Yugoslavia between 1992 and 2003, and from 2003 to 2006 under name of Serbia and Montenegro in international competitions.
Serbia won the global tournament in 1998 and 2002 as Yugoslavia and they are currently ranked fourth in the FIBA world rankings.
They are Group D are along with African side Angola and European nation Italy, and Asia's Philippines.
Each team will play each other once, for a total of three games per team, with all games played at Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center, Foshan.
After all of the games are played, the top two teams with the best records qualify for the second round and the bottom two teams will play in the Classification Round.

Angola are set to make their eighth appearance in the global tournament having finished 17th in the last World Cup.
Lastly, the Philippines will be making their sixth appearance the competition and they finished 21st in the previous World Cup.
