The NBA is experiencing somewhat of a golden age with arguably some of the greatest players in history competing right now.
Below are our picks for the top five NBA players currently still active in the league.
5. James Harden

James Harden and his beautiful beard is one the NBA’s best. Over the last 4 years, Harden has averaged more assists per 36 minutes than LeBron James or Chris Paul. Additionally, over the same period, he has outscored Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. It really is easy to see how Haden is one of the most valuable offensive players in the league today.
4. Steph Curry

Simply put, Steph Curry is the only unanimous MVP in the history of the MBA. His effortless combination of lightning-quick ball handling and seemingly limitless range make him a threat from just about everywhere. Curry’s one weakness is without doubt his defense. Despite his defensive deficiencies, he is still arguable the best in the league.
3. Anthony Davis

The best big man in the league, Anthony Davis has carried the New Orleans Pelicans for years. Davis is capable of a strong defense while also carrying a capable jump shot that is accurate at all 3 ranges. The big man’s only failing is the team he plays for, a team that struggles against the star power of the likes of the Warriors.
2. Kevin Durant
At 7 feet tall (in shoes), Kevin Durant is the complete package. With the rim protection skills that come with most big men, Durant combines it with tight ball handling skills and intimidating power both in the middle of the court and at basket. The only thing separating Durant from the number one on our list is his size. With just a little more bulk on his gigantic frame, the Golden State Warriors small forward could be one of the greatest of all time
1. LeBron James
There are few players worth mentioning in the same sentence as Michael Jordon, LeBron James is a member of that exclusive club. The Los Angeles Lakers points machine was already being compared to MJ when he went number one in the NBA draft in 2003. Ove the next 18 years, James would secure three NBA championships, four NBA MVP awards and be selected for as an NBA All-Star 15 times. At 34 years old, James likely only has a few more seasons in him. However, there’s nothing stopping him from making his last few season his best with an ability that hasn’t dulled with age.
