2019/20 Premier League
Round 14
30 November – 1 December 2019
Newcastle United will chase an upset win over Manchester City when the teams meet at St James Park on Saturday 30 November 2019, kick-off at 15:30. The match is one of 10 across the weekend for the 14th round of the Premier League season.
Newcastle’s recent run of solid form came to an end on Monday night when they went down 2-0 away to Aston Villa. Yet the Magpies are five points clear of the drop zone and manager Steve Bruce is on course for the club’s aim of survival.
“We are up against one of the best team in the world [Manchester City] next and we have to do better than [against Villa] if we want to get anything out of the game. We have to roll our sleeves up and get ready for it,” said Bruce.

Manchester City came from a goal down to defeat title rivals Chelsea 2-1 at home this past weekend, with Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez netting the goals. It was a key performance from the Citizens, who bounced back from their defeat to Liverpool prior to the international break.
"We don't care what happens to other teams Liverpool, Leicester, Chelsea we have to keep running. We know after the last two years the hard work we have to put in,” explained De Bruyne, with City remaining nine points adrift of top spot.
In head-to-head stats, Newcastle and Man City have met in 142 previous matches. The Citizens have claimed 56 wins compared to 53 for the Magpies, while 33 games have been drawn.
The teams’ league meetings last season produced two home wins: City won 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium in September 2018, while United won 2-1 at St James Park in January 2019. That last result was the Magpies’ first league win over the Citizens since September 2005.
