2018/19 Premier League
Round 36 preview
26-28 April 2019
Round 36 of the 2018/19 season will be a key weekend in the Premier League, with the focus on the title race between Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as a crunch game between Manchester United and Chelsea.
The round opens on Friday night with Liverpool at home to Huddersfield Town. The Reds will aim to claim all three points at Anfield and pile the pressure on rivals Man City, who have a more difficult clash away to Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday will also be a big day in the top-four battle, with
Arsenal facing a tricky away game at Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City, while
Manchester United and Chelsea will have a blockbuster meeting at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have struggled for form in recent weeks and seem to have reverted to the chaotic displays which marked the final weeks of former manager Jose Mourinho’s reign, while the Blues are also struggling for consistency under Maurizo Sarri. With a potential Champions League place on the line, this game is set to be a tense and dramatic battle.
The round also features a London derby between
Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United on Saturday; Cardiff City looking to win away to Fulham to keep their slim survival hopes alive; Brighton & Hove Albion could ensure safety with a win at home to Newcastle United; and Watford take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in a repeat of the teams’ thrilling FA Cup semifinal meeting earlier this month.
