Borussia Dortmund will square off with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg clash at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday.

The German giants booked their place in the knockout stages after finishing second in Group F behind Spanish champions FC Barcelona. 

They are undefeated at home in this season's competition having recorded one draw and two wins against Inter Milan and Slavia Prague. 

Dortmund are one of the most successful German clubs having won the Champions League title in 1997 and they are keen to clinch their second trophy this season.

Dan-Axel Zagadou, the Dortmund defender, is looking forward to facing PSG and he has discussed his partnership with Mats Hummels.

"I'm happy about the draw because I went through all of PSG's youth teams. It'll certainly feel special to play against them, and it'll feel good to go back there," Zagadou told Bundesliga's official website.

"He helps a lot, he's got a lot of experience and he's won a lot. You can feel it on the pitch, he speaks and directs us. It's good for the team to have him."

Meanwhile, PSG advanced to the Round of 16 after finishing at the top of Group A ahead of Spanish football heavyweights Real Madrid. 

The French champions are undefeated on the road in this season's competition having registered one draw and two wins over Galatasaray, and Club Brugge.
 
PSG were crowned UEFA Cup Winners' Cup champions in 1996, but have never won the Champions League trophy and they will be hoping to clinch their maiden title this year. 
 
The last time Dortmund hosted PSG in a competitive match was on the 4th of November 2010.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Europa League match at the Signal Iduna Park.
