Manchester United will battle with Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg match on January 7.
The Red Devils are heading into this clash as the favourites having defeated City in an English Premier League match earlier this season.
However, United have been inconsistent in the league this season and they will be hoping to go all the way, and lift their sixth Carabao Cup trophy.
The Red Devils will be keen to ensure that they record a home victory and keep a clean sheet ahead of the second-leg encounter.
Meanwhile, City are seeking revenge against United, who dented the Citizens' hopes of retaining the English Premier League title.
The Citizens are still in the race for this season's league title and they hoping to complete another domestic treble in the current campaign.
City will be keen to secure an away win in the first-leg clash which would put them in control heading into the second-leg encounter at home.
Pep Guardiola, the City manager, has compared highly-rated youngster Eric Garcia with FC Barcelona superstar Sergio Busquets.
“Busquets [was like that] when he was young. When I was in the second team at Barcelona and the first team, he was so curious," Guardiola said.

The second-leg encounter is set to be played at the Etihad Stadium on the 29th of January 2020.
The last meeting between United and City in the Carabao Cup was on the 26th of October 2016.
United secured a 1-0 victory over City in a match which was played at the Old Trafford Stadium.
