Charles Leclerc looks to bounce back

2019 Formula 1 season, Round 7

Canadian Grand Prix

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal

Sunday 9 June 2019

Charles Leclerc will be looking to bounce back when Round 7 of the 2019 Formula 1 season, the Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, is held on Sunday 9 June.

Leclerc suffered a terrible home Grand Prix in Monaco last month, starting way down the grid after a poor qualifying before eventually being forced to retire from the race.

Charles Leclerc will be looking to bounce back

It was his first DNF for Ferrari and sees him placed fifth on the Drivers’ Championship standings, now only 25 points ahead of sixth-placed Pierre Gasly of Red Bull.

Leclerc will be hoping that he can excel on another street circuit in Montreal, and last year he put in an impressive drive for Sauber to come home in 10thplace at the Canadian GP.

The key for the Monegasque driver this weekend will be to get his qualifying right, having struggled to produce outright pace over a lap under pressure.

If he can put himself in the upper echelons of the grid, then a podium position or even better could be up for grabs.
