Serena Williams will be looking to clinch her fourth French Open title when he competes at the Stade Roland Garros.

The American tennis icon, who is currently ranked eighth on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), won this tournament in 2002, 2013 and 2015.

Williams will now be hoping to go level with former Belgian tennis star Justine Henin, who won four French Open titles.

Williams, who has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, clinched his maiden Roland Garros trophy after defeating her sister Venus Williams in the 2002 final.

The Michigan-born superstar then defeated Russia's Maria Sharapova in the 2013 final and it was her 16th Grand Slam singles title.

In the 2015 final, Williams defeated Czech Republic's Lucie Safarova and she became the first woman since Jennifer Capriati in 2001 to win the Australian Open and the French Open in the same year.

The 39-year-old has been struggling for form lately having been knocked out in the second round of successive tournaments, at the Italian Open and the Emilia-Romagna Open.

However, Williams' coach Patrick Mouratoglou has insisted that he is not worried about the form of the accomplished player ahead of the Ronald Garros.

"I think she lost because she was not ready,"  Mouratoglou said when speaking on Sky Sports.

"I don't know, but maybe it was not a good idea to go and play in Parma after losing in Rome because her match in Rome showed a lot of things that still needed to be worked on to be able to compete at the highest level.

"I think it's always interesting to play matches because it gives you a clear vision of where you are, so that was good in that way because we know what she still needs to accomplish in order to be ready for Roland Garros."
