Tottenham Hotspur will welcome Italian giants and three-time UEFA Champions League winners Inter Milan to their temporary Wembley abode for their final home match in this penultimate round of fixtures in Group B, in what is now a must-win encounter for the London outfit.
The Lily Whites look set for a second group stage exit in three seasons unless they can mastermind a much-needed victory against Inter Milan on Wednesday. A draw would still see Spurs survive albeit still needing to beat Barcelona in two weeks’ time while relying on a PSV win against Inter in the remaining fixture.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men head into this encounter following a massively impressive 3-1 win over Chelsea in the
English Premier League on Saturday, a result which ended the Blues 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions this season. Harry Kane’s goal at the weekend was his fourth in his last four appearances and took his tally to 11 for the campaign, with four of those coming his four European outings thus far.
