Walusimbi confident despite debut red card

Saturday December 5 was supposed to be a memorable day for Enock Walusimbi.

The defender was excited about his debut for Express FC as the club played Onduparaka away in Arua.

His debut only lasted 67 minutes as he was sent off for deliberately handling a goal-bound ball.

The punishment was red card and a penalty for the hosts.

That, however, will not stop Walusimbi from dreaming about a good season with the Red Eagles.

"I was so disappointed because it's always sad to be sent off," Walusimbi told the club website Monday.

"I always want to play the entire game and help the team win," he added.

Walusimbi started the game partnering experienced Uganda Cranes center back Murushid Juuko.

"As a team we gave our all and we shall take a point but there's always room for improvement."

Walusimbi was just one of several players to join Express in the last transfer window as the team looks for better results in the new season.

The draw in Arua put Express in fifth spot on the 16-team log after match day one.

Next up for the Red Eagles is a home game against Bright Stars on December 12th at the Wankulukulu.
