Striker Brian Umony believes the players’ positive attitude was key to the team as they returned to winning ways against Bul in the
StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday evening.
The Red Eagles recorded a 2-0 victory with Brian Umony also scoring his first goal for the club.
The striker capitalized on an error by Nyamityobora goalkeeper Dennis Otim before side-stepping him and scoring in an empty net to seal the victory.
“This is not an individual thing. I’m excited for the boys who gave everything for this, it has been tough for us losing three games in a row so credit to the boys,” Umony a mid-season signing told the club website.

“It’s the super league so there are no easy games, we train every day to win games it is hard to overcome this kind of opposition so the boys worked so hard to overcome this,” he added.
Umony’s goal came after Frank “Zaga” Tumwesigye had also notched his first for the club to give Express a 1-0 lead three minutes into the second half.
The midfielder tapped in at the near post after good work from Disan Galilwango on the left flank.
The result over the second from bottom side helped Express move two places to 10
th position on the 16-team log.
The match was coach George Ssemwogerere’s first win having taken charge of the team during Sunday’s 1-0 away loss to Bul.
“ It wasn’t an easy game but my players played so well they had fatigue coming from Njeru on Sunday and playing again here away on Wednesday,” he stated after the game, but they recovered very well to get all three points, if we go like that we shall win many games.”
Ssemwogerere also heaped praise on Tumwesigye who was later named man-of-the-match.
“Zaga was superb. In the first half he nearly created four goal scoring opportunities so we deserved a goal and I hope he will be fine when we play Police. Brian was good as well and got a real striker’s goal,” he added.
