Uganda extends Express sponsorship deal

For the last two years,  Betway Uganda and Express FC have enjoyed a happy relationship.

The online betting firm committed 420M to Express in 2018 and that helped the club have a smooth path through the last two seasons.

That arrangement will continue. This follows the announcement of an extension of the deal by the two parties Monday morning in Kampala.

It comes at a time of financial uncertainty in the sports sector and Express Chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka didn't hide his joy when handed the microphone to speak.

"We are grateful to Betway for all the support over the last two years," he said.

"It has been a good ride with the sponsor and we look forward to achieving more together," he added.

Betway Country Manager, Adelle Agaba Nyaruhuma revealed that the new deal is a sign of commitment the company have towards development of sports in Uganda.

“We have shown commitment towards the development of sports in Uganda by sponsoring a number of clubs," she said.

“Our marriage with Express FC is definitely a fruitful one. For the last two years, we have had a fruitful partnership and that is the reason why we have decided to renew it for the next year to the tune of 420M.”

The sponsorship will cater for stadium naming rights,  team kits, player and technical staff support and skills development.

Express will also have access to a state of the art gym facility to ensure players stay in shape.

The club will also be the lone tenant at the Betway Wankulukuku stadium.

Express have signed 18 players this season and will be looking to gel as fast as possible when the season starts next month.
