Uganda and Congo headline AFCON's June 22 action

Uganda will open their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group A campaign against DR Congo on Saturday, June 22.
 
The encounter will take place at the Cairo International Stadium. Kick-off is at 17h30.
 
This will be the 11th meeting between the two nations with Congo recording six wins compared to Uganda's four victories, while one game ended in a draw.

The Cranes lost 4-0 to Congo in their last competitive match which was a 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Uganda will look to their inspirational captain Denis Onyango, who is on the books of South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns. 

The accomplished goalkeeper will be looking to lead his troops to victory against two-time AFCON champions, DR Congo.

The Cranes, who are coached by French coach Sebastien Desabre, are hoping to go all the way and clinch their maiden AFCON title this year.

There will be two other matches on Saturday, June 22 with Nigeria taking on Burundi in a Group B encounter at the Alexandria Stadium. Kick-off is at 20h00. 
 
Nigeria's Super Eagles are looking to mark their return to the Afcon finals with a victory, while the Swallows of Burundi are keen to win their first ever game in the tournament.
 
The last match of the day will be between Guinea and Madagascar in another Group B game at the Alexandria Stadium. Kick-off is at 23h00.
 
The Elephants are the favourites to win the game against Madagascar's Barea, who will be making their debut appearance in the finals.
