South Sudan completes Cranes’ Afcon qualification group

Uganda Cranes will meet northern neighbours South Sudan after the latter progressed from the preliminary stage of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Qualification phase.

South Sudan eliminated Seychelles 3-1 on aggregate following 2-1 and 1-0 wins in a space of four days.

Joseph Kuch struck in either legs of the encounter to ensure that the Bright Stars will be in the Afcon qualification groups for the second time in a row.

Now South Sudan completes position four in Group B that has Uganda, Burkina Faso and Malawi.

The encounters here begin next month when the Cranes visit Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on November 11 before hosting Malawi a week later.
