2019-20 La Liga

3-6 July 2020
Round 34

Sevilla will look to continue their push to earn UEFA Champions League football for next season when they host Eibar at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Monday 6 July 2020. The match is one of 10 spread across 3-6 July as part of La Liga’s Round 34 action.

Sevilla broke a run of four draw in La Liga by crushing Leganes 3-0 away from home on Tuesday night, with goals from Oliver Torres (two) and Munir El Haddadi. The result sees them retain fourth place ahead of chasers Getafe and Villarreal.

“We wanted to win, as in every match,” said manager Julen Lopetegui. “In the four games we’ve drawn, we had options to win. It was complicated because the teams that are playing for their lives are very dangerous. Fortunately in this game we scored early, which is important.”

Eibar will come into the game on the back of a clash at home to Osasuna on Thursday evening. Their recent form has been solid, with Los Armeros gaining enough points since the restart to ease their fears of relegation and look forward to another campaign of top-flight football next term.

“It's [survival] not all insured because there can always be someone who chains victories down, but we have a good advantage and it makes us see things differently,” said Eibar manager Jose Luis Mendilibar. “Before the break we were very fair and we doubted we could get out. Now quite the opposite.”

In head-to-head stats, Sevilla and Eibar have met in 17 matches across all competitions. Los Nervionenses have claimed eight wins compared to three for Los Armeros, while six games have been drawn.

When the teams met in La Liga earlier this season, Eibar claimed a come-from-behind 3-2 win at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua in September 2019, thanks to goals from Fabian Orellana, Pedro Leon and Cote.
