Express assistant coach James Odoch is excited by the progress the team's technical team has made ahead of the Startimes Uganda Premier League season.
Having let go of about 18 players after last season, Express had to invest in recruiting players for the next season.
The club has been busy since the month of August and about eight players have already been unveiled.
“The technical team has done a tremendous job so far and I applaud them for that," Odoch told the club website in a recent interview.
The former Red Eagle has been around Ugandan football for a while and appreciates what it means to have a supportive team at the top.
"I also want to appreciate the chairman and CEO for working closely with us (technical team) to make this process smooth,"
The former Uganda Cranes star is mostly impressed by the playing staff assembled thus far and believes the team can go places.
"As for the team, we can say we like the shape it’s taking and it’s well balanced.”
All the player signings have been sanctioned by the technical team which considered several factors.
Club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa revealed that one of the factors the club considered was having players staying sign long term contracts to avoid massive player turnover after one season.
Goalkeepers Denis Otim and Cryspus Kusiima, centre back Richard Bbosa, midfielders Godfrey Lwesibawa, Isaac Nsengiyunva and Abel Eturude, winger Baker Sakah and forward Mustafa Kiragga are the new faces in the team.
The Uganda Premier League is scheduled to kickoff on 17th October 2020 pending clearance from the Ministry Of Health and H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
