Rising boxing star Caleb Plant will look to make his mark in the sport when he battles Jose Uzcategui for the IBF World Super Middleweight Title on Sunday, 13 January 2019, at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.
Since turning professional in 2014, the 26-year-old Plant is undefeated. His record heading into the fight stands at 17-0-0 (10 knockouts).
Known as ‘Sweet Hands’, the American established himself as a title challenger with an impressive unanimous decision victory over Rogelio Medina in February 2018.
The champion is battle-hardened Uzcategui, who hails from Venezuela in South America and has a professional record of 28-2-0 (23 knockouts).
In his last match Uzcategui scored a unanimous decision over Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna in September 2018. However, it was not a title match, making this his first defence of the Super Middleweight crown.
