Red hot Express beat MYDA to remain unbeaten

MYDA 1-4 Express

Express FC moved to second place on the Uganda Premier League log with a commanding 4-1 win over lowly MYDA at the King George IV Memorial stadium.

The renewed Red Eagles are now on 19 points, only two behind leaders and defending champions Vipers.

Braces from George Senkaaba and Godfrey Lwesibawa were enough to hand Wasswa Bbosa's charges their fifth win in nine matches.

Coming off a 4-0 massacre of BUL, Express started with the same lineup and got the same number of goals to show improvement in the team's conversion of chances.

Senkaaba's goal, set up by partner Eric Kambale was enough for a halftime lead for the visitors.

Lwesibawa continued with his form and looped goalkeeper Isaac Osikol to double the visitors' lead.

Senkaaba benefited from captain Enock Walusimbi's assist to slot home and make it 3-0 and register his fifth strike of the season.

Substitute Ibrahim Kayiwa set up Lwesibawa to complete the route.

Eric Mutebi got the consolation goal for the hosts as he scored from the spot following Issa Lumu's foul inside the box.

Head coach Bbosa is a happy man after seeing his charges score eight in two games.

The Wankulukuku outfit were left to regret missed chances after conceding late to draw with KCCA.

"Our strikers have lacked concentration but it was different today," Bbosa said after the win.

"Concentration levels were high but now that we're done we are going to work on our conversion rate. We still need to be sharper."

Express, sponsored by Betway, have looked more organized in this campaign and find themselves in a good place in the race to the title.
