Express are eager to return to winning ways when they play Nyamityobora on match-day 19 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in Mbarara this evening.
The Red Eagles lost their previous game in cruel fashion, conceding a goal in added time in a 1-0 defeat to Bul at the Fufa Technical Center in Njeru on Sunday.
Coach George Ssemwogerere gave his thoughts on the game that will also be his second since returning to the club in place of Kefa Kisala.
"It will be a good game, the boys are learning what we want to play and they are in a good mood and the morale is high we shall be able to get good result," he said ahead of the game.
Express are currently 12th having dropped two places with the majority of the 16 clubs having played a game more on Tuesday.
And they play a Nyamityobora side that is second from bottom and nine points worse off than Express.
" We had a few days to correct the mistakes so we tried to correct them most especially defensive errors when the game is getting done, how to handle that pressure,” said defender Charles Musoke who will be playing against his former side if selected.
“Also how to score goals. We had one day after the game and we have to travel. We shall be attack minded we had a few problems with some players but we have traveled with a full squad and we are going for the win," he added
There is also some positive team news ahead of the game with coach Ssemwogerere revealing attacking midfielder Frank Tumwesigye is set for a return after missing the previous game because of compassionate leave granted by the club to help him burry a relative.
He should help improve the forward department that could have the experienced Brian Umony start.
The game will however come too early for captain Michael Birungi who saw his four-match suspension reduced to two games and should be available for subsequent games.
