Power target further additions ahead of Titans clash

With teams required to register all their players before the end of the first round, several sides are eager to beef up their rosters as the National Basketball League season reaches the halfway point.
Betway Power is no exception. The five-time champions confirmed they are in the market as they seek to end a five-year drought for league silverware.
Ahead of Friday’s much anticipated clash with KIU Titans, Betway Power coach Arnold Lando confirmed Burundian Willy Nijimbere is in line for his debut for Power.
The veteran guard has been training with the team since late last week when he arrived in the country.

“We have had some injuries like that to Brian Oduor and Nijimbere because of his ability, is a player who can play various roles from one-three. He has a good shot and he is good off the ball too,” Lando also known as Mchuda, said of the 37-year-old.
Nijimbere a former MVP in Burundi joins from the country’s top side Urunani who he helped win the 2013 and 2014 Zone V Club Championships alongside City Oilers’ Landry Ndikumana.

The coach also revealed they are keen on having Athieng Lual return to the club with the player having featured for the club last season before moving to South Sudan.
Power also signed six players in the off season including Sunday Okot, Sulaimani Bbale, Francis Kasinde, Diego Angemi, Tyrone Martin and Julius Wapera.
On Sunday they improved to a 7-2 record following the 81-49 blowout victory Nkumba Marines with Joseph Ikong scoring a game high 22 points.
