Betway Power vs JKL Dolphins

Betway Power have for the most of the regular season matched expectations with consistent performances as they seek what remains an elusive sixth title since winning the fifth back in 2011.
That early season work however looks set to be undone by a string of losses that threatens to derail the side with the post-season playoffs fast approaching. They will as thus be seeking to break that sequence when they play their penultimate game of the regular season against JKL Dolphins on Sunday. They come into the game in bad form having lost their previous two games and four of their last nine in the league. This was after starting with an impressive 9-2 record.

The latest defeat against UCU Canons happened despite leading for the majority of the opening three quarters. “We need to manage games better and be in control throughout,” a disappointed assistant coach Chris Kyebambe said after the 62-58 defeat on Wednesday evening in addition to the 75-71 defeat to Sharing Youth. Michael Makiadi scored a joint game high 15 and Paul Odong added 13 but could not prevent a sixth defeat in 20 outings for Power who led 44-37 going into the final period and were again without captain Joseph Ikong.
On Friday, Power’s rivals City Oilers and Pemba Warriors face off at YMCA in another highly anticipated game. Oilers come into the game on the back of retaining the Zone V Championship and easily dispatched Ndejje University 92-50 in their previous game on October 09. Warriors meanwhile boast one of the most balanced squads in the top division with good perimeter shooters in Syrus Kiviiri and Mark Opio.

In Stanley Mugerwa, Phillip Ameny and Saidi Amisi, Pemba Warriors also boast a formidable frontcourt but like the first round showed, Oilers Landry Ndikumana and James Okello know when to step up. The latter come into the game having played the least games and with an 11-4 record while Warriors have lost only twice in a 16 game sequence.
