There are players who have played every minute of their team's season in the top five European leagues and have been crucial to their success.

We picked two top players from each league to highlight and the minutes they have played in their respective leagues:

Timo Horn (2,250 minutes)

The FC Koln goalkeeper is probably the first name on the team sheet having played every minute of the Billy Goats' 25 games in the German Bundesliga.

He is a superb shot-stopper and often keeps his side in the game.

Manuel Neuer (2,250 minutes)

The Bayern Munich goalkeeper has proved to be a reliable player between the sticks for the Bavarians once again. Not only does he lead by example, but his exemplary skills have seen him keep numerous clean sheets.

"I've seen everyone. Sepp Maier, Oliver Kahn, and now Manu. I have the greatest respect for Sepp and Oli, they were absolutely world-class," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the Bundesliga website.

"But what Manuel has done is something else: he took the whole goalkeeping game to a new level."

Diego Lopez (2,430 minutes)

The Espanyol shot-stopper, who is now 38, has been inconsistent, but remains the club's first-choice goalkeeper having played 27 Spanish La Liga games.

His positioning at times lacks something to be desired, but his shot-stopping and distribution skills are impressive.

Aitor Fernandez (2,430 minutes)

The Levante goalkeeper has been influential for the Frogs as they look to retain their status in the La Liga division.

He has been the key man in defence, organising from the back and making crucial saves when called upon.

Alessio Romagnoli (2,340 minutes)

The AC Milan central defender is a hard-working player, who remains a figure of consistency in the team having made 26 appearances in the Italian Serie A.

He is a no-nonsense tackler who often breaks up team's attacks with his reading of the game.

Thoma Strakosha (2,340 minutes)

The SS Lazio goalkeeper has been brilliant between the sticks and looks set to play every single Serie A match for the Eagles this season.

He is one of the main reasons Lazio is top of the table at present and challenging for a league title. He has cat-like reflexes, organises his defence well and distributes the ball quickly and accurately.

Younis Abdelhamid (2,520 minutes)

The Stade Reims defender is one of the regulars for the team having played 28 matches in the French Ligue 1 this season.

He is the first name on the team sheet because of his work ethic and the example he sets for his fellow teammates. He reads the game well, makes crucial tackles and can quickly turn defence into attack with his pin-point passing.

Benjamin Lecomte (2,520 minutes)

The AS Monaco shot-stopper has established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper having played all of the team's 28 Ligue 1 games.

He is probably one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the world with his greatest strength his ability to marshall the defence in front of him.

David de Gea (2,610 minutes)

The Manchester United goalkeeper remains one of the best shot-stoppers in the world and a key player in the Red Devils team.

De Gea is famously known for his quick reflexes and ability to fling himself around the goalmouth to keep strikers at bay.

"But David's shown his reaction, the way he made amends and saved Sigurdsson's goal, or chance, at the end," United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Bleacher Report.

"David's the best goalkeeper in the world, Dean is a very good challenger and then Sergio (Romero)'s a decent challenger as well."

Virgil Van Dijk (2,610 minutes)

The Liverpool FC centre back remains one of the best players in the EPL and a permanent feature in the Reds' starting line-up.

Since his arrival in the Premier League he has impressed with his high work-rate and 'finesse' at the back. He is not only one of the best defenders in the country, but he is also an asset in attack at set-pieces.
