Betway Kobs and Buzz Pirates started their life without their Rugby Sevens players on Saturday.
Pirates had to come from behind to defeat Toyota Buffaloes 15-11 and extend their lead at the top to six points. Betway Kobs faced off with Rhinos thereafter and the latter inflicted pain on their Legends counterparts to dent their title hopes.
With four games left for all teams, Kobs have a harder task in the chase for the championship. Plascon Mongers, Hima Cement Heathens, Impis and Pirates wait in line for Ronnie Lutakome's charges.
For Pirates, Warriors, Jinja Hippos, Rhinos and Kobs were all easy prey in the first round and picking points from these games will lead them to their first-ever league title.
Rhinos are 8 points off the pace with four matches to play and will be boosted by that 13-03 win over Kobs on Saturday. Buffaloes, Pirates, Rams and Hippos will hand Rhinos the final test in the final bend of the title race.
