Philip Wokorach gets new team in France

Ugandan international rugby player Philip Wokorach has signed for France championship side Association Sportive Bédarrides et Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The fullback was unveiled to the public on Wednesday with the team announcing through their social media.

The move gets Wokorach closer to the professional divisions since the Championship is the last amateur level in French rugby.

Last season, Wokorach featured for Bourges XV and helped them earn promotion to the fourth tier.

The former Hima Cement Heathens player couldn't hide his excitement after the announcement was made.

"I thank God for this. It's a good move and I'm praying and hoping for the best." He said.
Wokorach started his rugby career from the touch rugby program at Kyadondo rugby club before playing for Hanah Mixed School.

He played for Heathens before joining Kenyan side Kabras Sugar. He is a seasoned Ugandan international with both the 15s and the 7s sides.

He will, however, have to wait a little longer before stepping onto the pitch for his side with sport still suspended in France because of the Corona Virus pandemic.
