Final: Betway Kobs 14-00 Heathens
Betway Kobs stretched their lead in the chase for the National Rugby Sevens Championship after winning the Soroti sevens.
The table leaders defeated Heathens 14-00 in the final to make it three wins in as many circuits.
Kobs got a different opponent this time round with Heathens stopping Pirates 10-05 in the semifinal.
Nobert Okeny was sent to the sin bin early in the final for a foul on Adrian Kasito.
A penalty try was awarded to the Blue Army and they took a 07-00 lead into the halftime break.
Kasito later crossed the white line for Kobs’ second try to settle the contest.
With the win, Kobs stretched the lead at the top of the log to 11 points.
They now have 66 points from three circuits while second placed Pirates are on 55.
Heathens closed the gap on Pirates by making the final and are now just two points behind the Sea Robbers.
Kabale, Rujumba and Coronation Sevens are still to come and Kobs are now in a strong position to defend their title.
