Ochan loving life at Kobs

When Betway Kobs unveiled their new signings for the season, most of the attention was on James Odong, Arthur Mpande, Byron Oketayot, and Saul Kivumbi.

The three are seasoned campaigners and have been part of the Rugby Cranes set up for some time.

However, Brian Ochan, who arrived from Pirates, has been the most consistent of the new recruits.

The scrumhalf has been a big part of the first three games of the season and he is loving every minute of it.

He has already crossed the white chalk on four occasions and hopes to contribute more to the club.

"I'm enjoying playing for Kobs and I'm sure there's more to come from me," Ochan said in a recent interview.

"The coaches have trusted me and I want to repay by delivering on the field of play," he added.

Ochan started his rugby career with Kobs feeder team Boks before crossing to the Sea Robbers where he spent nine years.

His arrival coincided with the departure of Ivan Kirabo to Rhinos and that has freed up the number nine jersey.

Kobs are the team to beat this season and Ochan believes a first league title since 2016 is a big possibility.

"We just have to remain focused as a team. We have a strong squad and the coaches are using it well," Ochan noted

Davis Kyewalabye has rotated his squad in the first three games of the season and will need everyone fit to run the entire stretch of the title race.
