Pep Guardiola’s troopers continued on their winning ways on Monday, beating Spurs 1-0 at Wembley thanks to former Leicester City man Riyadh Mahrez, extending their current streak to three consecutive matches in all competitions since a disappointing goalless draw at Liverpool – a match in which Mahrez missed a last-gasp penalty. The Citizens are unbeaten in their last eight matches however which includes a comfortable 3-0 away win over Oxford United in the previous round of the Carabao Cup.

Fulham earned their place back amongst England’s elite via victory in the promotional playoffs back in May although Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have really struggled to sustain themselves in the top flight this season. With just one win from their opening 10 matches (over Burnley back in August) and having conceded more goals than any other team in the division (28), the Cottagers dropped into the dreaded relegation zone, leapfrogged by fellow promoted side Cardiff City who picked up their first three points of the campaign at Fulham’s expense last weekend.

Fulham recent results:

27/10/2018 – Fulham 0-3 Bournemouth
20/10/2018 – Cardiff 4-2 Fulham
07/10/2018 – Fulham 1-5 Arsenal
29/09/2018 – Everton 3-0 Fulham

The pair have already faced each other once this season when Leroy Sane, David Silva and Raheem Sterling scored in a 3-0 win for Man City, putting Fulham to the sword in September. That was City’s sixth straight Premier League win against Fulham since February 2012.

City have not lost to Fulham in their last 12 matches in all competitions since going down 3-1 at home in April 2009 as Fulham pulled off a great escape to survive relegation that season.

Kolo Toure scored an extra-time winner the following season, adding to Gareth Barry’s second half equaliser after Zoltan Gera had put Fulham in front in the first-half, as Manchester City cruised past the Cottagers into the fourth round of the League Cup.
