After lifting the Uganda Cup title, Betway Kobs will kick off the
national league season with a trip to Jinja.
Fred Mudoola’s charges will be looking to right the wrongs from last season by competing for top honours.
Kobs’ new signings will have the opportunity to play their first league game in the blue jersey.
The team’s last trip across the Nile was in the first game of the Uganda Cup when they defeated Walukuba Barbarians 71-10.
The Legends outfit will be without the services of Joseph Aredo after he was selected to captain the Uganda Sevens team at the Safari 7s in Nairobi this weekend.
Players like Robert Aziku and Ivan Kirabo will be expected to feature in their first league game for Kobs.
In the other games, new look Hima Cement Heathens play Toyota Buffaloes at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.
Having won two meetings of the previous season, Buffaloes lost eight starters to Heathens and these will turn their guns towards their former employers.
Defending champions Black Pirates will also be in Jinja to face newly promoted Walukuba.
Rams will don their new kit as they face Plascon Mongers at the Graveyard in Makerere.
In the first Legends derby of the season, Shell Rimula Rhinos will take on DusuPay Warriors.
