Betway Kobs utility back Joseph Aredo will lead the Uganda Sevens team at this year's Safari Sevens tournament in Nairobi, Kenya.
He was named captain of the travelling contingent by head coach Tolbert Onyango.
This comes after Aredo missed out on travelling with the team to the Sevens World Cup and the Africa Cup in USA and Tunisia respectively.
Uganda will have two teams at this year's event set for this weekend in Nairobi. Aredo will be assisted by Black Pirates' back Isaac Massa.
Massa got his first outing with the senior Sevens team at this year's Africa Cup in Monastir.
He had featured for the national university team in Namibia before being part of the emerging Sevens team that played as a guest team at the Christie Sevens.
The emerging Uganda sevens will be led by Stephen Alul and Raymond Emanzi as captain and assistant respectively.
Betway Kobs will start the national league without the services of three players who have been selected to the team. Faragi Odugo and Sexton Okeny are part of the emerging Uganda Sevens team.
