Betway Kobs have been top of the Nile Special Stout League table since week one of action.
Davis Kyewalabye’s charges have one job to do going into the final week of the season, pick one point and the league title is back to the Blue Army cabin for the first time since 2016.
The last weekend presents a lot of Mathematics with three teams still in the race for the championship but Kobs’ task is the simplest compared to their chasing rivals.
Having defeated defending champions Heathens earlier on in the campaign, Kobs can quench their league thirst with a win, draw or even a loss provided the loss fetches a losing bonus point.
A win is what Kobs will be going for though and fly-half James Ijongat is confident they will get the job done.
“It is just like any other game and we just have to stay focused like we have been,” Ijongat revealed ahead of the clash.
“It is important that we win the league and we have to give it our all,” he added.
Ijongat was in top form against Heathens and set up Karim Arinaitwe’s try that settled the game and gave Kobs the advantage in the race.
The Legends outfit will have to do it with some of their top players with the National Sevens team out of the country.
Adrian Kaito, Joseph Aredo, Ian Munyani, James Odong, and Byron Oketayot are all in South Africa with the team and will miss the final lap of the title race.
The five will, however, cancel themselves out with some of the Pirates stars that were also selected on the same team.
Isaac Massa, Desire Ayera, Timothy Kisiga, Solomon Okia, and Kelvin Balagadde are all on the team.
Eyes will be on the trophy though, regardless of who is in and who’s not.
