New Express CEO wants immediate success

After being appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer  (CEO) of Express FC, Isaac Mwesigwa is targeting nothing but success.

He may be stepping into new waters as a football administrator but Mwesigwa is a respected football brain.

"The most important thing now is for us to put together a team that will challenge for success," he said.

Upon signing his two-year contract, Mwesigwa told Football256, a Ugandan online paper, that he's up for the challenge.

“Am up for challenges, I would have opted for another club but I figured I wouldn’t have pushed myself.”

Prior to this job Mwesigwa was a player intermediary and is the man behind the move that saw Allan Okello cross from KCCA FC to Algerian side Paradou.

He has also represented other players like Mustafa Kizza.

Player development, winning titles and putting up a good show on the continent are some of the things Mwesigwa wants to oversee at the club.

Express have already started planning for the next season and kicked off preparations by confirming the permanent stay of Wasswa Bbosa as head coach.

The tactician will be allowed to assemble a team to challenge for both the league and Uganda Cup when the next season kicks off.

Since surviving relegation on the last day of the 2017/2018 season, the Betway sponsored side has been on an upward trajectory but is yet to scale the heights expected of a team that big.
