Yamaha rider Franco Morbidelli will be looking to secure the runner-up spot by winning the
Portuguese Grand Prix.
The Italian star boosted his hopes of finishing second this season by clinching the most recent race, the Valencian Grand Prix last weekend.
Morbidelli will now be hoping to make it two wins in a row in order to finish second behind newly-crowned MotoGP champion Joan Mir.

Jack Miller of Ducati finished second at the Valencian Grand Prix, while KTM rider Pol Espargaro secured a third spot finish.
Mir is placed at the top of the riders' standings and he is followed by Morbidelli and Rins respectively with one race left.
Morbidelli has accumulated 142 points, while Rins is on 138 points heading into this weekend's Portuguese Grand Prix.
Fourth-placed Maverick Vinales of Yamaha, who finished 10th at the Valencian Grand Prix, still has a chance to finish second as he has collected 127 points.

Morbidelli says the 2020 Valencian Grand Prix was the best race in his MotoGP career as he reflected on the event which took place in Spain.
“Yeah, I think it was my best race in MotoGP so far. [I had a] super-high rhythm and a super-nice battle at the end. So, yeah, definitely it was my best race in MotoGP so far," Morbidelli said.
“I knew that I can be tough in a fight,” Morbidelli said when asked if he learned something more about himself as a rider in this race. “I knew that. I just did it in Moto2 or MotoGP for not top positions.
“It was nice to have a fight and give myself proof also in MotoGP at the last lap against a great rider for the victory. “So, it was good to do that and it was good to see I was able to come out of this in a good way.”
Suzuki are placed at the top of Manufacturers' Championship standings, but they are level on points with second-placed Ducati (201).
Yamaha are placed third with 188 points with one crucial race left this term.
