Manchester City will open their quest for a third straight
English Premier League title when they face hosts West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday 10 August 2019, kick-off at 14:30.
City held off a superb challenge from Liverpool in 2018/19 to defend their league title, and will look to match cross-town rivals Manchester United as the only team to claim a hat-trick of championships in the Premier League era.
Manager Pep Guardiola has seen only major addition to his squad at the time of writing, with midfielder Rodri brought in to bolster their options in the middle of the park.

The Citizens will continue to rely on the brilliance of forwards Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero, with the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, David Silva and Bernardo Silva providing them with the ammunition to score.
West Ham came home in 10
th place last season and have made two major additions to their squad – Pablo Fornals and Sebastien Haller – with only one notable departure, striker Marko Arnautovic.
The Hammers have not beaten City in a match since September 2015, but will he hopeful of catching the champions off guard early on in the season.
