The Magpies have fallen just three points above the relegation zone following a 3-1 loss at Manchester United.

Fulham's upturn in results has made for a nervy end to the league season for the Newcastle faithful whose team have only won twice in their last 14 games. Despite a poor run of form, Steve Brurce remains confident that Newcastle will avoid the drop.

"Fulham have had a good week and won a couple of games, which at the bottom end of the table is big, but there are a few of us: Brighton, Burnley and maybe Crystal Palace looking over their shoulders," said Bruce.

"My message to the supporters is that I'm convinced we'll be ok."

In contrast, Wolves have seen an upturn in results of late and beat Leeds United 1-0 for a third win in four matches to keep their hopes of European football alive.
