Lando wants Betway Power to pull in one direction after patcy run

Betway Power have lost all three games in the National Basketball League this season in which they have posted less than 60 points.

Two of those defeats have come in the team’s last two games as the five-time champions lost 57-54 to KCCA Leopards before last Friday’s 65-57 loss to reigning champions City Oilers.

Betway Power coach Arnold Muchuda Lando has put the losses down to the role players contributing little offensively.

“We need to have the bench players contributing,” Muchuda warned prior to the game against the Oilers.
That message appeared not to sink in as the Power bench players once again failed to come to the party contributing a paltry seven points in the loss against the Oilers.

“Everyone needs to be contributing at both ends of the floor if we are to achieve our goals this season,” the coach warned.

The win for the Oilers saw them end what was turning out to be a regular sequence of Power dominating their recent regular season meetings.

Betway Power had managed the regular season double last year and also claimed a 64-56 first round victory earlier this season.

The Oilers however turned that sequence winning 65-57 to offer a timely reminder about who perhaps rules this division.

A combination of poor shooting and good Oilers defense saw Betway Power score a paltry four points in the third quarter they lost 21-4 with the period haunting them despite edging the final period 17-14.

Jimmy Enabu and Landry Ndikumana showed the Oilers have enough in their arsenal scoring 18 and 17 points respectively to do the damage in the high intensity game.

Joseph Ikong replied with 17 points and Geoffrey Soro added 13 for Power who lost third game this regular season to fall to 13-3.

Betway Power who still occupy top seed status are now left with six games with two games this weekend starting with a Saturday fixture against Charging Rhino before facing off with Ndejje 24 hours later.
