Kobs Visit Mongers As Rugby League Returns

The festive season is long forgotten and now time to get back to business in the national rugby league.
After a two weeks break that allowed all stakeholders time to celebrate the festivities with their families, the league resumes this weekend with all the sides in action.

Table leaders Betway Kobs travel to the 'House of Pain' for a clash with the stubborn Plascon Mongers.
This Season has brought the best out of Kobs thus far as the side has registered bonus point wins in all their five outings to ensure maximum points.

New signings Michael Opio, Aaron Jurua and Simon Makumbi have been quick to fit in while senior players like Brian Odong and team captain Brian Asaba have ensured a steady ship.

The return to action of winger Justin Kimono has paid dividends with the speed merchant, albeit yet to hit his top best, crossing the line on several occasions to see the team through tough fixtures.

Against Mongers, Kobs will want to forget their recent record in the league and deal with the issue at hand.
The 31-17 win over Shell Rimula Rhinos exhibited how dangerous Kobs, depleted after exits at the start of the season, can be.

Adrian Kasiito has had to play at full back this season and has made everyone forget that he is naturally a scrum half.
His man of the match display against Rhinos was just a reminder of how clinical he can be both in defence and offense.

The switching of positions has not only involved Kasiito this season, Rugby Cranes hooker Cyrus Wathum has had to play as a flanker in the opening five rounds of games.

Ronnie Lutakome's charges will be confident of getting a result at a ground no team fancies to visit.
Meanwhile Hima Cement Heathens will be searching for only their third win of the season when they visit Makerere Impis at the Graveyard.

Muhammad Athiyo's troops won their opening tie of the season against Jinja Hippos before falling thrice at the hands of Toyota Buffaloes, Pirates and Rhinos.

The losing streak ended in the previous round as the defending champions defeated Rams in Makerere to arrest the situation.

Second placed Pirates take on Warriors in the weekend's Legends derby while Rhinos and Buffaloes will clash at Kyadondo.

Winless Hippos host Rams at Dam Waters in Jinja.
