Betway Kobs made it two out of two after the opening two rounds of the national sevens championship. Having won the first circuit held at Kyadondo, Kobs added the Jinja 7s tournament after defeating Toyota Buffaloes 19-7 in the final at Dam Waters Grounds.

Kobs, who haven't lost a game this season, made light work of opponents in the group games before dispatching Walukuba, Warriors and Buffaloes in the quarters, semis and final respectively. Joseph Aredo, Adrian Kasiito and Michael Amolo all crossed the white chalk as the defending champions beat Buffaloes for the second time in seven days. Now on 44 points, Kobs top the log as they look to defend the title.
Buffaloes, who have only been bridesmaids in the first two finals, have 38 points and remain challengers for the crown. Starting with the next event set to be held at Legends, Kobs will be without five of their seven starters.

Team captain Joseph Aredo, James Ijongat, Ramathan Govule, Adrian Kasiito and Alhadji Manano have all been called up to join the national sevens team preparing for the Africa Cup in October. In their absence, veteran Timothy Mudoola, Amolo, Keith Seruyange and Augustine Kasansula will be in the limelight to lead the team until the last play of the championship.
The next 7s event will see Kobs play at their home ground before travelling to Northern Uganda for the Gulu sevens.
