The New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers will renew their rivalry at Madison Square Garden in a 2020-21 NBA Regular Season game on the morning of 30 January 2021, with tip-off at 02:30 CAT.
The Knicks have had mixed home form this season, with their last turn as hosts bringing a 91-84 win over the Orlando Magic more than a week ago. New York will definitely look to rookie Immanuel Quickley to continue the promise he has shown thus far in the 2020-21 campaign.
“It’s impressive. Again,’’ Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said of Quickley's recent performances. “I think that shotmaking is a huge asset for our team. That’s something that we need. He gets better with each outing, puts pressure on people”
The Cavaliers, meanwhile, found themselves on a good run after racking up three straight wins, but came plummeting back to earth when they were thumped 141-103 by the Boston Celtics this past weekend. The result was a major wake up call for Cleveland.

"We can't get complacent. We won three games in a row," said Cleveland guard Jarrett Allen, who scored 12 points in the defeat at Boston. “We came out flat, almost like we expected to win. We have to come out hungry.”
The Cavs' Andre Drummond added, “When we’re a whole, healthy team, we’re very tough to beat. [The three wins in a row] were great games for us. We have all the tools to be a great team.”
In head-to-head terms, the Knicks and the Cavaliers have met in 214 Regular Season games since 1970-71. New York have claimed 115 wins compared to 99 for Cleveland.
The teams met in four Regular Season games in 2019-20, with the Kicks claiming three wins – the most recent of which was 139-134 after overtime thanks to 26 points from Marcus Morris.
