Portugal desperate for Group B win

The Portuguese started their Group B assignments on a high as they nearly stunned Spain on Friday night. However, they failed to clear their lines as they ended up settling for a point in their 3-3 match against the 2010 champions.

Coach Fernando Santos will once again call on his skipper Cristiano Ronaldo, to lead their attack as he netted three times against La Roja.

As they make their seventh appearance inthe Global showpiece this year, the Navigators are yet to win the Jules Rimet trophy, but have finished third in 1966 and fourth in 2006.

With Iran leading the Group B standings with three points following their 1-0 win over Morocco in their opening Group B game, the Portuguese sit joint second on the log table with a point from a draw.
