Morocco vs. Uganda (Thursday, July 8th in Rabat)
The Uganda national men's basketball team, Silverbacks have two bullets left in their gun as they shoot for a place at next month's Afrobasket.
The first bullet will be aimed at Morocco when the two sides face off in their rescheduled game of the qualifiers in Rabat.
A win for Uganda will be enough to send them to the continental showpiece without having to use their second bullet against Cape Verde.
Head coach George Galanapoulous has a much-improved team on paper and must put together the pieces to seal qualification with a game to spare.
Defence has been the main point of focus for the team to correct mistakes made in the first window.
Forward James Okello is confident if the defensive end of the game is sorted out then chances of beating Morocco are high.
"We are well prepared to take on Morocco," the City Oilers player said ahead of the clash.
"We have been trying to correct mistakes that we made in the last game," he added.
"The coach has emphasised how we can better our defence because we conceded a lot of points in the first window."
Uganda will unleash three weapons that Morocco didn't face in November last year and they all carry attributes that improve the team in black, yellow and red.
Guard Keiran Zziwa is a 6'0 option at the point and joins Jimmy Enabu and Tonny Drileba to give Galanapoulos depth.
Abdihakim Ghedi Mohamed is a 6'11 centre who adds size and presence in the paint while Arthur Kaluma, a 6'8 forward can guard several positions on the floor due to his athleticism, size and length.
Uganda won the first game 94-90 and will be hoping for big performances from everyone in the squad.
Robinson Opong poured in 29 points to carry Uganda on his back last November.
Failure to win in Morocco would have Uganda use their last bullet in the gun to outwit Cape Verde in Praia next week.
