Express stayed top the Uganda Premier League for a second match-day after A resounding 4-0 win over Kitara moved them to 58 points after 26 games.
The tally is still one ahead of URA and two more than Vipers with four games left.
This week the Red Eagles' attention switches to the first leg of the Uganda Cup against KCCA on Wednesday and experienced defender Murushid Jjuuko has lauded the team's mental strength and self-belief as they pursue success on both fronts.
"The journey so far has been nothing short of hard work, self-belief, and having the right mental strength,” stated Jjuuko in an interview with the club website on Monday.
The boys have left everything on the pitch in all the games and they know it's not done yet.”
“But if we keep that spirit we're definitely going to give it a shot in both competitions that we're in," he added.
Jjuuko can point to a sublime run of form in which the club has won all their previous seven league games.
This includes live-wire striker Eric Kambale who has now scored 10 goals in six games including a double in the win over Kitara.
There were also goals for Frank Kalanda as well as left-back Arthur Kiggundu in the win that confirmed relegation for the visitors on Friday evening.
The Red Eagles resume their title charge away against Wakiso Giants then return home for two back-to-back home games against BUL FC and Myda respectively with the last league game being away to KCCA FC on June 30th.
