Washington Sundar’s return of 3-16 in four overs saw Pune defend a moderate total of 162 to advance into their first IPL final.Mumbai will have a second chance to reach the final when they face Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier 2 on Friday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kolkata earned their spot thanks to a dramatic, rain-affected 7-wicket win (D/L method) over defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. Mumbai will fancy their chances of overcoming Kolkata, having already beaten the Knight Riders twice in the 2017 IPL league phase: the Indians won by 4 wickets in their home match on April 9, while the return game in Kolkata on May 13 saw them claim a 9-run victory.Whoever reaches the final will have a hard time stopping Pune, who have been one of the most consistent teams through 2017 and boast a powerful batting line-up - led by captain Steve Smith - and a varied bowling attack which has been spearheaded by South Africa’s Imran Tahir.
