In-form Express eye table summit in Wakiso engagement

Express FC will move top of the Uganda Premier League for at least 24 hours if they win against Wakiso Giants as they kickstart action on matchday 10.

The Red Eagles are currently third on the 16-team log level on 19 points with second-placed Police.

The tally is just two short of leaders Vipers who are not in action until Saturday.

Assistant head coach James Odoch is confident the Red Eagles can get maximum points at the Betway Muteesa II stadium as they seek a third consecutive win.

“We are well prepared for tomorrow, we’re playing Wakiso Giants who we believe are well prepared,” Odoch noted ahead of the game.

“they have young players in midfield and we’ve been preparing to work on it, we’ve also been sharpening our front line.”

“Yes we’ve scored eight goals in the last two away games but we believe we can convert more which we’ve worked on,” he added

The Red Eagles are one of three teams that are still unbeaten in the league thus far and are seeking to put together a sequence of three league wins in a row.

The previous two games against BUL and MYDA have yielded an 8-1 count although it is at the other end where the team has impressed conceding just six goals, the least of all 16 teams.

Head coach Wasswa Bossa has a fully fit squad to choose from including striker George Senkaaba who has scored four goals thus far.

They play a Wakiso Giants side that is 10th with 11points but is also unbeaten after drawing eight of their nine games played thus far.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides with Express FC winning on both occasions in the league last season as well as picking a 2 – 1 friendly result.
