Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers are set to clash in the
2020 National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals.
The Heat are the Eastern Conference champions, while the Lakers are the Western Conference champions.
This is the first NBA Finals matchup between the two teams with the Heat having eliminated Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Heat were underdogs against record 17-time NBA champions Celtics, but they managed to secure a 4-2 victory.

Erik Spoelstra, the Heat coach, is looking forward to facing his former player in LeBron James, who inspired the Lakers to the finals.
“That’s a great storyline, right? Can you let us enjoy this for a little bit right now?" Spoelstra said as he celebrated the Heat's series win over the Celtics.

"This is hard to do. It’s hard to get to this point, and I want our guys to recognize that, acknowledge it, enjoy it for at least a night. Then we will get on to that tomorrow.”
While the Lakers eased into the Finals after eliminating Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.

The Lakers were clear favourites against the Nuggets and they were simply the best side as they emerged 4-1 winners in a one-sided playoff tie.
The best-of-seven playoff series is scheduled to be played behind closed doors starting on September 30.
The games will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex inside Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida, the USA.
A possible game seven is scheduled to take place on October 13 as the Heat and Lakers battle for this year's NBA championship.
The following NBA matches will be broadcasted by ESPN on SuperSport TV between 02 and 08 October.
