Express FC started the new
Uganda Premier League (UPL) season on a low note after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Bul FC on Friday evening.
There were concerns the result would cause a negative reaction from the fans towards the team that is again rebuilding after bringing 21 new players in the off season.
But Galilwango, who was handed the captain’s armband in the team that also includes his elder brother Martin Kizza, is confident that will not be the case during the team’s opening home game of the 2019/2020 season at the
Betway Muteesa II Stadium.
“It (pressure) won’t be much even our fans want to see us, they will just support us, we shall calm it by playing good football,” Galilwango told the club’s website after Friday’s game.
“We are very ready and we expect to win because we are home, the first one didn’t go well but using this one we have to make up for that of Friday and get three points,” he added.
Youngster Frank Ssenyondo, one of three players signed from Teranova academy impressed most neutrals on the day he made his debut and could be handed more playing time by coach George Simwogerere.
The team is however down to one fit first team goalkeeper after Tony Kyamera joined Mathias Muwanga on the sidelines after getting injured in a collision with Bul forward Musa Esenu.

Joshua Adea is thus expected to keep goal with doctors recommending five days rest for Kyamera who reportedly still feels chest pain.
Also expected to sit out the opening home game is another youngster Shafiq Avemah who was one of the star performers for Yeak Kabowa in the Futsal league.
They play a Bright Stars side that is using the Betway Muteesa II Stadium as their home ground and also lost their opening game 3-1 against Vipers.
They will be without Farouk Katongole who was sent off in the game.
Express finished 10
th last season, two places below today’s opponents who were also victorious on the way to reaching the Uganda Cup final at their hosts’ expense.
