Gadaffi Summoned To Cranes Squad Ahead Of Ghana Clash

Having been one of the stand out players as Onduparaka finished a respectable fifth place in their maiden season in the topflight league, many thought Gadaffi “Gadinho” Anguzu deserved a national team call up.

That senior national team call up did arrive on Thursday afternoon after the playmaker was among 35 players summoned for the crunch home World Cup Qualifier against Ghana at Namboole. The diminutive midfielder will however first have to impress in the initial preparations that will start on Wednesday 27th September, 2017 at 4pm at Namboole stadium under the guidance of head coach Moses Basena and his technical team.

This will be followed by the involvement in the Uganda Cranes regional tour of Northern Uganda on  September 30th which will be the final tour of the year according to Fufa spokesperson Ahmed Hussein. Gadaffi has started the season in fine form playing a pivotal role as Onduparaka picked four points from their opening three games including a 2-0 win away from the Betway Greenligh Stadium.

Club captain Rashid Toha who has been struggling with injury misses out ahead of the October 7th game against Ghana.
