Elite athletes are earning more than ever due to ever-richer TV contracts and soaring endorsement deals. The top 100 highest-paid athletes in the world last year -- across all sporting codes -- each earned at least $25 million in 2019.

There are exactly five boxers amongst the top 100 active richest athletes in the world. Floyd 'Money' Mayweather topped the list in 2018 with a whopping $285 million, but he hasn't been in action since beating Conor McGregor in 2017 and has thus fallen out of the top 100.

Without any further ado, here follows the top five richest active boxers as compiled by Betway from Forbes' 2019 list of the world's highest-paid athletes:

5. Gennady Golovkin ($25.5million in 2019)

"Triple G" got back to winning ways in 2019 after suffering what was the first defeat of his professional career in 2018; at the hands of Mexico's Canelo Alvarez.

The 38-year-old Kazakhstan national, who beat Steve Rolls and Sergiy Derevyanchenko in 2019, has reported endorsement deals with Nike's Jordan brand, Hublot, Tecate, Chivas Regal and streaming service DAZN.

4. Manny Pacquiao ($26 million in 2019)

The Philippine boxer is still going strong at the age of 41 and while 2019 wasn't his biggest year in terms of income he still cracked a place in the world top 100 rich list.

Pacquiao claimed wins over both Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman last year. Despite having lost his Nike endorsement due to anti-gay remarks four years ago, he has been able to line his pockets after signing with Chinese sportswear brand ANTA soon after. Pacquiao's 2015 bout against Mayweather remains the best-selling fight in the history of boxing with 4.6 million pay-per-view buys.

3. Deontay Wilder ($30.5million in 2019)

The former WBC heavyweight title winner bagged $10 million for his fight against Dominic Breazeale in 2019 and even more for two bouts against Tyson Fury, although his second fight against the Englishman ended in him falling to his first professional defeat in February this year.

Of the five on this list, "The Bronze Bomber" took home the least amount of money through endorsement deals with only $500,000 coming by means of that avenue.

2. Anthony Joshua ($55 million in 2019)

Joshua's undefeated run might have come to a stunning halt at the surprising hands of Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 -- he beat the same opponent in a rematch a few months later -- but this hasn't scared away his sponsors.

He remains one of the most marketable athletes in the world and quite frankly a marketing juggernaut. Apart from big money deals with Matchroom Sports and DAZN, Joshua also has sponsorship deals with notably Under Armour, Jaguar Land Rover, Beats, British Airways and Hugo Boss.

1. Canelo Alvarez ($94 million in 2019)

The four-division world champion is by far the richest active boxer in the world and ranks fourth overall on the Forbes rich list for 2019 behind only Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

Streaming service DAZN committed $365 million in 2018 to lock up the next 11 fights of boxing's biggest pay-per-view star. The 29-year-old Mexican pocketed roughly $50 million combined for his first two fights on DAZN but should earn at least $35 million per fight in the future.

Alvarez, who's only professional loss came at the hands of Mayweather, has notable endorsement deals with Under Armour, Tecate, Hennessy and Everlast.
