With top-flight players fetching larger and larger transfer deals each year, it has never been more important for the world biggest clubs to secure lucrative sponsorship deals.
Below are the top five largest soccer kit sponsorship deals in the world:
5. Arsenal - $300 million / USh 1.1 trillion
Arsenal has only just recently signed a new deal with Adidas after abandoning Puma at the end of the 2018/19 season. The new deal is worth a total of $300 million and will run from 2019 to 2029. The deal is expected to net the Gunners around $60 million a season
4. Manchester City - $650 million / USh 2.4 trillion
Like Arsenal, Manchester City have only recently signed a new deal moving away from Nike and signing a $650 million deal with Puma. The contract is expected to run from 2019 to 2029 and will net City around $65 million a season.
3. Manchester United - $750 million / USh 2.8 trillion
Manchester United signed a deal with Adidas in 2015 for $750 million. The deal is expected to run for a 10-year period netting the Red Devils $75 million a season, more than any other club in the English Premier League.
2. Real Madrid - $980 million / USh 3.6 trillion
The Spanish La Liga is without doubt the market leader when it comes to outrageous kit sponsorship deals. Real Madrid signed a 10-year deal with Adidas in 2015 for $980 million. The deal nets Los Blancos $98 million a season a full $23 million more than United.
1. Barcelona - $1 billion / USh 3.7 trillion
With arguably the best player in the world and one of the most successful track records in the UEFA Champions League, it is unsurprising that Barcelona secures the top spot. The club signed the world’s first $1 billion kit sponsorship deal with Nike in 2018. The 10-year contract nets Barça $100 million a season.
